Washington, D.C. and Hershey, PA

October 4th - 11th, 2011

Travel to Charlotte, NC.  Continue on to our Nation's Capitol.  See the many memorials, have lunch furnished at Union Station, visit the Capitol Visitors Center, and Arlington National Cemetery.  While in Washington, we will overnight in Alexandria, VA at a hotel on famous King St., where we can walk to the Potomac River, shop the quaint botiques, and enjoy the sidewalk cafe's.  We spend three nights in Lancaster, PA, touring the area, doing a horse carriage ride in the area, and visiting an amish family farm.  Have an opportunity to sample the great foods, We have lunch furnished at several of their outstanding restaurants.  Visit Hershey, PA, where we will enjoy the tour "Chocolate World", sample all of the wonderful chocolates created by Milton Hershey and have lunch furnished at the beautiful restaurant, located on property.  This is truly an outstanding experience.  Listen to the stories of the students who attend "The Hershey School" and tour the city, where the street lights are made to resemble "Hershey Kisses".  On our return, we travel through the Appalachian Mountain chain, stopping along the way to experience the beautiful scenery, have lunch and shop the wonderful mountain stores.  Our trip takes us to Roanoke, VA. Where we overnight. The next day we continue on the "The Smokies", reaching Gatlinbug, for our last night. We have lunch furnished at Applewood, an outstanding property, containing, great restaurants, a candy, shop, the Fried Apple Shop, The Old Apple Barn and Winery. We do a tour of Gatlinburg and overnight in Pigeon Forge. All reservations must be made no later than June 30th. All eight days, with breakfast furnished each day, 12 meals in all and the opportunity of a licensed on board guide, explaining the history of this part of our nation.
